Chemstress Consultant Company is Hiring an Architect I (Industrial) Near Akron, OH
The Architect I applies advanced architectural principles with minimal supervision through the collection and analysis of data obtained from the field or from Project information and initiates a wide degree of creativity and latitude to develop innovative solutions and designs for the benefit of our clients. Familiarity with one or more of the following industrial service areas is preferred: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, Utility, Energy, and Manufacturing. This individual is expected to fulfill the requirements of the position and understands that occasional travel to client’s facilities, both locally and out of state, may be expected for client meetings and to obtain data from field observations and measurements.

- Bachelor or Master’s of Architecture degree with state architecture registration; NCARB registration a plus.
- Up to Ten (10) years of direct experience as an Architect, preferably with experience in Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, or Utility projects.
- Knowledge of building codes and NFPA standards.
- Perform building and fire code reviews for proper project scoping requirements.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Maintain effective communication with project team disciplines, clients, and contractors.
- May act as a lead architect, leading and directing the work of other architects and designers on designated projects. May check work of other architectural personnel assigned to the project.
- Prepares designs in compliance with applicable codes, constructability, industry standards, completeness, and presentation.
- Collect and prepare data/information to provide architectural designs, specifications and scopes of work.
- Perform construction estimating, field inspection, building programming, and develop facility layout plans and construction documents.
- Submittal review, interdisciplinary project checking, and field resolutions shall be performed.
- Review and respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFI) on assigned projects.
- Maintains compliance with all Chemstress policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assists in recognizing and correcting design discrepancies with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Authorize a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.
- Submit to and pass a drug test post offer.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel, including the potential for occasional extended assignments.
